Our Family Zoo!!: Chloe - Then and Now

This is the monthly update for Chloe for October. She really has grown a lot over the past three years!!! Chloe turned three this month and really acts like a pre-schooler now instead of a toddler. It has been a nice change :-) I've been trying to get the blog all updated before BB comes this one is a little shorter than usual. But, as always, enjoy!!

October 2007 - Just one year ago and Chloe turned two!!

Chloe is getting ready to blow out the candle on her birthday cake. She absolutely loved Elmo last year (still likes him a lot even now!!), so we had an Elmo party for her. Her Elmo shirt was a birthday present from Joe and I.

Chloe had gotten her flu shot the previous day and was not exactly feeling like herself at her party. She got a little scared with everyone looking at her and singing loudly.

We took advantage of the family at her party and snapped this four-generation picture of Joe's side of the family. From left to right are Mee-Maw (Joe's grandma), Chloe, Joe, and Grandma (Joe's mom).

My side of the family was also in town, so we grabbed a picture of Chloe and I with all four of her living grandmothers. From left to right are Great-Grandma Ruth (my grandma), Nana (my mom), Me, Chloe, Mee-Maw (Joe's grandma), and Grandma (Joe's mom).

All bundled up and warm after a bath. I still call her my "burrito baby" when we wrap her up in a towel like this after her bath.

Chloe went as a cute yellow duck last Halloween for beggar's night. It was the first year she was able to go out trick or treating and she had a very good time! I think we made it about 1/2 to 3/4 the way down our street.

Here's a picture of her with the hood of her costume up. It was so cute!! The costume was a nice hand-me-down from my Aunt Julie and Chloe just loved it!

All tired out after walking down the street. She was definitely ready for bed by this time!

October 2006 - Just one year ago and Chloe turned one year old!!

Our little sunflower. This was the first year we dressed Chloe up for Halloween. We went over to the neighbor's for a little bit so Chloe and the kids could run around in their costumes, but we never made it out to trick or treat that year. Chloe was so tired that she fell asleep before it even started!!

Chloe finally took of walking this month. Even though she had taken steps before, she had preferred to crawl or cruise until this point. Around a week before her birthday, she surprised me one morning by just walking across the family room to me!! Once she did that, there was no turning back and she preferred to walk over crawling!

Our little princess with her golden hair and blue eyes. We threw a big party for her and I was too nervous to make her cake, so we ordered a photo cake instead and this is the picture we used on the cake.

Chloe loved to eat!! Especially now that we could handle the "real" food and didn't hardly ever need to eat any baby food. Pasta was one of her favorites at the time! We usually stripped her down to her diaper because she would make such a huge mess!

Chloe loved this mail box on her little playhouse! She loved to put the mail in and then take it out. One of the funniest things about the mail box was that the door had to be closed if she was not putting the mail in. If you opened the door, she would promptly close it!

October 2005 - Just three years ago!! Chloe Grace is born on October 25, 2005 at 7:48 AM!!! After 36 hours of labor (yes, you read that right!!), our beautiful daughter made her entrance into this world. The labor was long and very tiresome, but the delivery was quick and Chloe was really healthy! She had a bit of jaundice, but it cleared up very quickly. She was a good sleeper and an even better eater!! As all babies do, she lost a little weight in the hospital, but was back up over her birth weight just a week later!!

Just minutes old!!

Chloe weighed in at a whopping 7 pounds 13.2 ounces. The doctor held her up and said, "She's a big baby!", especially considering she was born right at 40 weeks!
