Our Family Zoo!!: Play Ball!

The Sunday before Father's Day we went to a Dayton Dragon's game! My Dad got us some great tickets and our seats were just to the left of home plate! Thanks for the tickets Dad! Joe and I usually make it to at least one game each year, but this was the first year that Chloe got to come too! She loved all of the different games and activities, and especially the mascots Heater, Gem, and the Lady Bug! She got to give high fives to both Heater and Gem and talked to the Lady Bug for a while.

Although she had her own seat, Chloe spent the majority of the game sitting on my or Joe's lap. It made for a hot afternoon with temps in the 90s!

Since we were not in the shade for the first part of the game (just two rows in front of it!!), hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen were a definite must! We slathered Chloe with so much sunscreen that she barely got even a hint of sun. No burns, but she did get a little tan.

We had an extra ticket, so we invited Aunt Brooke to come with us! Chloe was so excited that Aunt Brooke came!

There must be something about Joe that screams "I love to be the center of attention!" Or perhaps it just his dashing good looks, but it seems he is often chosen to participate in games when we attend different events :-) On our way into the game, Joe was asked if he would be interested in riding around the field on a giant tricycle in a race against someone else. Of course he said yes! That's Joe on the tricycle in the middle of the picture.

Go Joe Go! It was a big tricycle but Joe said it was still crazy to ride! He rode like the wind and smoked his opponent (they raced in opposite directions so you can't see the other guy in the pic). Joe had to wear a yellow hat with a propeller on it and hold a huge lollipop while he rode. It was so funny! And Joe won a new Dragon's t-shirt, which was great since we can't find his last one.

It was a really fun afternoon! We stuffed ourselves with hot dogs (Chloe's first ball park dog!), dippin dots, peanuts, snow cones, and as much water as we could! We took breaks to visit the air conditioned gift shop and got Chloe her first Dragon's t-shirt. After picking up nearly everything in the store, she finally settled on a pretty gold colored shirt, which is no surprise since yellow is her favorite color! Chloe had such a good time that she has been talking about the game ever since. She asks every day if we can go back to a Dragon's baseball game!
