Sunday was beautiful, Monday was a little overcast, and Tuesday was rainy. We stayed in most of Tuesday just watching movies. When we checked the weather during the day on Tuesday, we were disappointed to see that Emerald Isle was being hit by a tropic storm. We were thankful it was not a hurricane because that probably would have meant we had to evacuate. The tropical storm did put a dent in our outdoor plans. We had planned to just have a very relaxing vacation, spending most of our time at the beach and pool. It was still raining on Wednesday, so we knew we had to come up with some activities before we all got cabin fever!! We found some indoor activities in the nearby towns. In the morning, my mom, sister, and I took the kids back onto the mainland to a huge arcade called Mac Daddy's. There were all kinds of fun games and rides for the kids! And it was great to get out of the condo for a while!! Joe was finishing up a class for his Associates Degree so he stayed back at the condo and studied.

We went back to the condo for lunch and to rest in the afternoon. Later that day, all of us headed to another nearby town to go to Chuck E. Cheese's. Despite the heavy rain, it was surprisingly uncrowded, and the kids had a great time running around. It took us a long time to get back to the condo due to the heavy rains. A lot of the roads were covered in water and it was a tense and scary ride back. Joe and I were supposed to go out on a date night that night and my parents and sister were going to watch the kids for us, but after the watery ride back, I didn't want to go back out in the rain. That evening, we learned that some of the roads had been closed due to high water, so it was good thing we returned to our condo when we did!
